Center Stage

(Center Stage Part I)

Center stage the main event
like the old vaudevillian tent
they mesmerize with hopes and fears
its all done with smoke and mirrors

vote for me the old man said
or bombs will soon fly overhead
the only thing you need to do
is let me win and see it through

my bible talks of war and fear
if its not there it will come here
so vote for me to sleep secure
its going to be a long long war

Don't worry about the cost of food
put your extra cash in crude
just join the club to claim your prize
sit back and smile as prices rise

you say they shipped your job away
I really don't know what to say
see economics just confuse me
except the land deals they amuse me

your cities soon will start to fail
best grab a bucket start to bail
you're on your own in this regard
unless you have a platinum card

cause then Ill step into the fray
so banks can still collect their pay
cause they know how the system works
they pay so they deserve the perks

don't castigate the corporations
they're the ones that built the nation
time for them to reap their spoils
profit from the peasants toils

and if your home gets repossessed
you really shouldn't get depressed
its just the price that you must pay
to live the American dream today

vote for me!

(Center Stage Part II)

Center stage the superstar
with messages that travel far
of hopes and dreams and righteous ways
to lead us into brighter days

his message is of what can be
a world that runs electrically
a government that does its job
with justice dealt to those who rob

he sees the wrongs that have been done
brought upon us by the son
and promises to change our path
hes counting on the peoples wrath

to change the tide and sweep him in
and overcome the network spin
with careful words he so inspires
tries to douse the racial fires

tries to stay above the fray
with hopeful words and righteous ways
He promises to guard our health
by fairly taxing those with wealth

Our constitution needs restored
our leaders must put down their swords
together we must mount a drive
to keep our planet Earth alive

Thoughts to feed a starving crowd
who need a reason to feel proud
who tire of the endless hate
served nightly on their TV plate

a people beaten down by fear
to sad to shed another tear
to busy trying just to live
not knowing what more they can give

They know their votes were compromised
by politicians filled with lies
rejecting what the people say
Only thinking of their pay

a world awaits in awe it seems
so wanting to believe his dreams
but fearing all the change allure
is nothing more than more manure

Vote for Him !
