To Hillary

I could pen a diatribe
with vicious words to make it snide
of contests lost and plans awry
and tilting at windmills in the sky

But I see nothing to be gained
by causing someone so much pain
its over now the die is cast
Its time for you to rest at last

Don't take his win as your defeat
just listen to the people speak
he sees their pain and feels their tears
hes not been hardened by the years

he brings us hope and dreams of change
his goals have not been prearranged
by dollar signs and favors owed
he seeks to take a different road

the useless death has got to end
before we can be whole again
our sons and daughters must be saved
too many fill too many graves

our country's wealth must be restored
and wrenched away from corporate boards
who's deadly sin has been their greed
ignoring all the peoples needs

Its not OK that someone's health
is predicated on their wealth
Its not OK CE O's applaud
as all our jobs are sent abroad

with roads and bridges in decay
our land is being sacked today
we must reverse this downward trend
our cites must stand proud again

So end your fight and join our quest
to show the world our country's best
your skills are needed in this fight
to take this mess and make it right

and history may well record
a woman with a mighty sword
who in defeat rose up to say
lets work to find a better way
